BAXI as a part of the BDR Thermea group, has been researching and developing hydrogen heating technology for several years. Already in 2019, the first hydrogen boiler was installed in Rozenburg, the Netherlands, as part of a pilot project. Subsequently, other projects were launched in the United Kingdom, France and Germany. 

In the first half of 2022, the first production line for condensing boilers burning 100% hydrogen was officially launched in Bassano Del Grappa, Italy.
